More than One New Widget View based on Keyword
I created a new Widget View to create a Price Filter based on color keywords (per the instructional thread using filters to do the work of categories). I then created an another new Widget View also based on keywords ("word") for a "Material/Finish" filter.
While both filters work correctly, when I select a value in one of the filters (e.g. select a value in the "Material/Finish" filter) the "Color" filter reduces to "[X] Remove color filter" even though I did not select a value in that filter.
Are you only permitted to create one new custom widget filter using keyword?
Unfortunately in this case, yes you can only have one filter. You can only have 1 filter of the type "word".
You have query='word=Blue' as well as query='word=aluminum'.
I would suggest changing your Color filter from "word" to "name" like this: query='name=Blue'.
That may work a little better.
OK that worked - now the "Color" and "Material/Finish" filters are not linked.
1) Can you tell me what the "name" field refers to? Is it looking for the name of the color in the Product Name field?
2) I think I saw the answer for this already so sorry to ask again. A given color has multiple variations (e.g. Green, Mint, Olive, Teal, etc. are all "Green"). Each specific color would have to be its own filter, correct? Cannot have any of green, mint, teal, etc. come up with a single filter value called "green"?
3) I actually have another new filter called "Design/Feature" using "word" - so I still have two filters acting in unison (Material/Finish and Design/Feature). Any chance there's another field I can use to separate these?

1. Name refers to the product name.
2. No, you can't group colors.
3. You could try description but not sure if it will work...
