images both local and from merchant servers

Hi,
I have a merchant who's images are not showing
Belle Lingerie,
I've emailed them and they replied saying that their images are fine.

Could the problem be that they do not allow them to be stored locally, if so how would I go about linking to their images when I have all other merchant images stored locally, can I call both local and merchant server images?

Regards,
Pauline.

Hi,

It's hard to say... Do you have a link to a product from Belle Lingerie on your site? I couldn't find any.

One issue might be your Permalink settings. They are currently set to "Default". This is not search engine friendly. I would suggest setting your Permalink settings to something other than "Default" such as "Post name" here: WordPress Admin Area > Settings > Permalinks.

Hi Eric,
No I don't have a link to Bella Lingerie, I didn't add any because of the images problem.

I cannot change the permalinks because of the intergration with xcart, I have tried but it just breaks the blog side of the site, I thinks it's just a css problem, I'm going to try and sort it out now!

Regards,
Pauline.

Hi Eric

I cannot change the permalinks but I am not to concerned with this, is there a way of grabbing the images from the merchant server as well as storing them locally,

Regards,
Pauline.

Hi,

Yes, it's possible but takes a little bit of tweaking to your Views.

You will need to change all occurrences of this:

Code:

[product.thumbnail tag='1']
With this:

Code:

<?php if ($product->merchant_id == 21156) : ?>[product.thumbnail tag='1' direct='1']<?php else : ?>[product.thumbnail tag='1']<?php endif; ?>
And all occurrences of this:

Code:

[product.image tag='1']
With this:

Code:

<?php if ($product->merchant_id == 21156) : ?>[product.image tag='1' direct='1']<?php else : ?>[product.image tag='1']<?php endif; ?>
In this post I've outlined all of the views where the image tag exists. Don't follow the instructions on that page, just the paths to find the [product.image] and [product.thumbnail] codes.

Eric
