Here is some helpful information you need to know before attempting to upgrade from Version 1 to Version 3:
When you are ready to upgrade (and you have made a backup of your files and your database), here are the instructions for performing an upgrade:
Hi Eric. I recently upgraded our dedicated server .... will there be issues running v3+ or do I need to upgrade MySQL ? v1 works fine,
This is my server:
Server OS is "CentOS release 5.5",
PHP version is 5.2.14,
MySQL version is 4.1.22.
(there is no issues with the curl or with "allow_url_fopen" setting)

Yes, you will need to upgrade MySQL to version 5.
